Europa şi Neamul Românesc
|
Europa şi Neamul Românesc (“Europe and the Romanian People”) is a monthly bulletin, representing the Romanian Movement for European Unity. It was founded by Professor Iosif Constantin Dragan. The review was published in Italy between 1972 and 1993. It was written almost entirely in Romanian, with some contributors writing in other languages, and addressed all Romanians to create awareness on the themes of building Europe, inform them on community processes, promote a sense of belonging to Europe, and enable the formation and growth of a European consciousness. This periodical greatly contributed to create the necessary cultural environment to facilitate a closer Romanian approach to the European Union, by developing a sense of history, in depth cultural studies in several sectors, and focussing attention on European and international reality and current affairs. As a free press periodical, for over twenty years, it provided a voice to Romanian and Community consciousness and, in many ways, it was ahead of its times. Contributors to Europa şi Neamul Românesc include personalities like Valéry Giscard d’Estaing and some of the high profile intellectuals on the Romanian and international scene. |
