Geo-Archeologia

The term “geo-archaeology” refers to a multidisciplinary scientific approach whose main aim is to contribute to the study of Earth Sciences (geology, palaeontology, mineralogy, speleology, geography, topography ecc.) and archaeology (and ancillary sciences) and use them to achieve a more thorough knowledge of the history of mankind.

The periodical named after this science, edited by the Italian Geo-Archeological Association, is published under the patronage and collaboration of the Dragan European Foundation. This review was founded in 1972 and is issued every six months, its scientific chief editors are Professor Claudio Saporetti, former lecturer of Assirian Studies at the Universities of Pisa and Viterbo, for archaeology, and mineral engineer Giorgio Boccalaro for geology. Besides the usual two yearly issues special monographic supplements are published that are often the results of special study expeditions or symposia focussing on a particular scientific interest.

The periodical has been recognized as a “publication of high cultural value” by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the Environment.
