Noi Tracii is a monthly review founded in 1974 by the European Centre for Historical Research in Venice and later transferred under the umbrella of the European Centre of Thracian Studies. Both are scientific departments of the Dragan Euroepan Foundation. Studies and researches were published in this review in several languages – mainly Romanian and French – related to the world of Thracians, a population that used to live on the extreme South-Eastern tip of the Balkan Peninsula.
Early in the 70s Thracology, or the study of Thracians, was a relatively unknown academic discipline. In fact, the Noi Tracii Review was born to a precise aim, promoting knowledge and encouraging the study of this multi and interdisciplinary science.
Enhanced knowledge and development of the Thracian Heritage and placing its history in the correct framework are, actually, the results of studies undertaken and published by the Review in almost a twenty year period of publication (until 1992).
This periodical succeeded in becoming a reference forum for Thracology, by providing researchers the chance to discuss and present new hypotheses, which often would lead to a better understanding of the relationships between ancient cultures.
