Orpheus
Orpheus is a periodical born of the collaboration between the International Council of Thracology, the Dragan European Foundation and the Associazione Internazionale Terra Antiqua Balcanica, three organizations focussing, as one of their main aims, on the study and in depth research of the history of our continent.
The inspiration for this series of publications lies in the shared notion that Thracology Studies, paleo-Balkan Studies and Indo-European Studies must be seen, from a methodological point of view, as three concentric cycles, all starting from one common centre: the question of the origin of Indo-Europeans, and the cultural synthesis of Indo-Europeans.
The name Orpheus is an auspicious symbol of the spiritual atmosphere this Review intends to create in the European Community, to enable one of the most ancient sources of Indo-European civilization to continue to be both witness and guardian of its own historical and cultural continuity.
